A Modest Proposal on Pressure-Cookers

Author: admin

By Matthew Ung

Now that it has been confirmed that pressure cookers were used in the Boston bombing, Americans will be restricted from owning more than one pressure cooker. The mayor has said “There just is no reason that someone would need more than one small pressure cooker in today’s world”, while the Governor hollered to cheers at a rally, “You don’t need multiple pressure cookers to cook a deer!”

A background check with a fee will be required before you are allowed to purchase one, in an effort to curb “pressure cooker violence.” High capacity pressure cookers will no longer be available to the general public but will still be available to military and law enforcement. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie…and Other Ways to Educate Congress

Author: admin

by Matthew Ung

The latest republican capitulation is to give at least $400 billion of deficit spending to the democrats by suspending the debt ceiling debate for three months, at the convenient time that the limit is reached. In exchange, they get back $69 billion of appropriations cuts, apprehensively labeled as “severe” cuts by many GOP insiders and commentators. Read entire article…

Resurrecting the Infamous “Methvin Farm”…and Other Ways to Destroy America

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

I was recently contacted by a Reuters reporter who assumed that, because I am an evangelical pastoring in the midwest, I would agree with a new evangelical political initiative attempting to broker a deal between the liberals and conservatives – a “moral” way to handle the powder keg of America’s Trojan Horse called illegal immigration. It was described by the reporter as the  “I was a stranger and you took me in” initiative. The “I was a stranger …” initiative takes its mantra from the famous text of Matthew 25:35, quoting the authoritative words of Jesus Christ. My response to Reuters News was probably not what they expected.  Read entire article…

A Divorce from the GOP

Author: admin

By Mychal Massie

The Republican Party, from its inception in 1856, has stood for conservative pro-family and pro-Constitutional values. Those values are what first drew me to the Republican Party and they are what have led me to be engaged in my unwavering support of same.http://prints.encore-editions.com/500/0/the-cradle-of-the-g-o-p-first-republican-convention-held-at-lafayette-hall-pittsburgh-pa-feb-22d-1856.jpg

I have opposed those Republicans who support abortion, homosexual marriage, expanded government, increased spending and other political positions that others and I argue are antithetical to what our Party has long stood for.

But the Republican Party we have supported and fought for is no longer the same. We have elected candidates who have behaved – and supported policies – more in line with Democrats than those standards we expect from true Conservatives. And, specific to that point, we have paid dearly as a nation for it. Read entire article…

How the Democratic Party was Ruined. Why Republicans Should Care!

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

If we are blown away at the reasonably kind and normal relatives that most of us have, who are self-described life-long Democrats, because they refuse to either leave their perverted party or at least stand up to it vocally for being un-American in its foundational ideology (platform)…

And we are blown-away because they look us in the eyes at family reunions and tell us they don’t agree with their own party’s proclivity for promoting homosex, abortion, Marxism, “living constitution” crap-ola, etc…

And we are blown away with them BECAUSE they are unwilling to stand up or leave, based upon sensible principles of morality and patriotism…yet, we ourselves are not willing to do the same to our own pagan, man-worshiping, secularist, humanist, scoundrel-filled Republican Party, then we have no credibility to criticize our Democrat friends and relatives at all. America’s Civic Religion in Light of its Judges

Author: admin

By David A. Norris

Justice William O. Douglas, United States Supreme Court

In times past, our nation’s judges recognized that America has a civic religion.  In 1952, Justice William O. Douglas wrote, “We are a religious people and our institutions presuppose a Supreme Being.”*  Civic religion is different than the personal faith of individuals–their manner of worship, fellowship and practice. Political Gang Rape

Author: admin

by Joel McDurmon

We expect leftists, liberals, and other miscreants to pounce opportunistically, to lie, cheat, and twist (all the while drooling) over a phrase like “legitimate rape” when uttered by a strong conservative Christian politician. But should we expect the same from alleged conservatives?

Yet this is exactly what we’ve seen from several prominent conservatives in the wake of a media gaffe from U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin (R-MO) in regard to alleged “legitimate rape” and abortion.

What could have been quickly and easily handled with a consolidated response correctly interpreting Akin’s unfortunate phrase was instead a rare cause of bipartisan hazing. Read entire article…

Convictions over Compromise

Author: admin

A Review of American Politics

by Matthew Ung

I’ll be frank. Republicans are compromising where democrats are not. Republicans are buckling where democrats are not. It’s a good thing I’m a conservative before I’m a republican.

The actions of the Obama Administration and the democrats are very easy to decipher. They are about imposing utopian statist power-grabbing. There was no compromise on Obamacare! On the most unconstitutional single bill of our time that needed to be crushed, the democrats did ZERO compromising, ZERO pandering, ZERO negotiating. And they succeeded. While many Americans were still debating if healthcare was a right or privilege, the bill was passed into law with planning and precision. Despite many democrats being promptly voted out of office and a reversal in the public support for Obamacare, the law still threatens our freedoms today.

The actions of republicans are harder to decipher, because the Republican Party is proudly a “big tent party,” which can be good or bad. I’ll get to that later. Read entire article…

Jesus’ Four Parables of Governmental Conflict

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

There are only two kinds of men that can hold power on earth – the forgiven or the unforgiven – the righteous or the unrighteous! Jesus’ three and a half years in public ministry revealed the greatest collision between divine government and human government ever seen in the history of the world – concluding with Christ’s unjust murder on the cross at Calvary. In His parables of Mark chapter three, Jesus taught that there were four levels of government currently in conflict in our world, and that conflict continues to this hour. In this cornerstone sermon Rev. Gordon reminds the modern church of three great truths: 1) The source of all governmental conflict, 2) The mandate upon the modern church while amidst the conflict, 3) Who Jesus declared would inevitably win as these four governments collide for the final time. Sex, Property, and the Good Samaritan

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

Hear this rare and fascinating sermon explaining the context behind one of the most profound answers Jesus gave (in response to one of the most simpletonian questions ever asked Him): “Who is my neighbor?” Upon this doctrine of Christ – the answer to this particular question posed by a lawyer (who is my neighbor?) rests the foundation of all liberty, property, and the free-market economy of the western world. Jesus’ Doctrine of National Judgment

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

In the wake of two national tragedies that SHOULD have driven His nation to national repentance, Jesus prophetically warned His nation, and in the process, all nations, that Father God must judge political and social corruption. All who heard Christ teach His Parable of the Cloud and Wind were driven to ask, as Americans must ask today: “Am I in any way complicit in the moral decay – the national sin – that endangers America?” Watch Jesus’ Doctrine of National Judgment

Were Moses and Jesus Fascists?

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

Did you know that Barna Research revealed that more than 50% of graduating high school seniors in America believe that Sodom and Gomorrah were “husband and wife?” Did you know that Barna also found that only 37% of Americans could name all four of the New Testament Gospels? Did you know that Kelton Research uncovered that the overwhelming majority of Americans surveyed were able to successfully give the accurate ingredients found in a McDonalds “Big Mac”, but almost none in the same survey could name even ONE of the  Ten Commandments? Surely Christians know more about the Bible than…hamburgers? What else might the modern church be missing from their knowledge base?

Unfortunately, Bible literacy in America is no longer the norm, even among those who regularly attend church. Correcting the problem is directly tethered to whether or not America can be restored. Rev. Cary Gordon addresses the subject of Mosaic Law and its proper relation to modern government, in the light of the work of Christ at Calvary and the significance of the Mount of Transfiguration. Enjoy this rare sermon on the true anchor of good government – the harmonious relationship between the Old Testament law of God and the New Testament law of Christ. Brace yourself as the sacred cows of popular Marcionism are slaughtered, and the real meaning of Paul’s writing in Colossians 2:13-14 is demonstrated in a reenactment of Moses’ “Law of Jealousy” prescribed in Numbers 5:23.

Reviving the Rotten Corpse of Natural Law

Author: admin

By Dr. Gary DeMar

When Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas appealed to Natural Law theory in some of his legal opinions and writings, there were those on the Senate Judiciary Committee during his confirmation hearings in September 1991 who took exception. The most vocal critic was former Senator and now Vice President Joseph Biden.

William Blackstone

As long as Thomas defined Natural Law as Biden did, Thomas’ appeal to it was acceptable. But if he defined it as “Higher Law,” the belief that God was its author as eighteenth-century jurist William Blackstone (1723–1780) did, then his view of Natural Law would not be tolerated. Biden wrote an article that appeared in the September 8, 2001 issue of the Washington Post[1]in which he claimed the following for his version of natural law:

Of Political and Theological Divides – A Way Forward on Abortion

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

There is a divide that now noticeably exists among Christian political activists across the United States surrounding the answer to the question: should activists demand abortion be outlawed outright, or should they choose instead to incrementally reduce abortion out of existence by the application of varying degrees of aggravating regulatory laws? One side we will call the “incrementalist” insists the use of a method intended to gradually regulate abortion into oblivion, and the other we will call the “purist” demands incremental strategy be abandoned in favor of straight-forward legislation that clearly and entirely outlaws murder of the unborn at once. The strident and ongoing disagreement between these two factions, ironically, guarantees the abortionist continues to win, as he has for the past 38 years since Roe v. Wade. A solution MUST be reached. Lives are literally at stake. Read entire article…

COMMON SENSE: Herman Cain: Liar, liar, pants on fire!

Author: admin

By Bob Eschliman

In all fairness, I have to admit I once was riding the “Cain Train.” I had bought into his message, his position as an outsider railing against Washington, and Herman Cain’s success as a businessman who has been able to create jobs and turn failing business models around.

Cain Train?

But, I never stopped the vetting process, which is why I’m firmly back among the ranks of the undecided. I dug deeper as I got to know more about the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO, and I didn’t like what I saw.

For one thing, the man’s underwear must be constantly aflame, because he seemingly can’t open his mouth without lying.

Cain appeared on “Piers Morgan Tonight” on CNN Wednesday night, a move most political advisors probably would not recommend. And, it wound up costing him considerably.

Throughout the campaign trail, Cain has fancied himself a champion of the pro-life movement. Granted, Morgan roughed him up pretty good in the early going, but when he got a relatively soft question on abortion, Cain folded. Read entire article…

COMMON SENSE: Ron Paul’s only consistency is his inconsistency

Author: admin

by Bob Eschliman

This past May, during a GOP debate in South Carolina, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) was asked about his stated position on criminalizing drug use:

Q: You say that the federal government should stay out of people’s personal habits, including marijuana, cocaine, even heroin.

A: It’s an issue of protecting liberty across the board. If you have the inconsistency, then you’re really not defending liberty. We want freedom [including] when it comes to our personal habits.

And, yes, he’s completely for de-criminalizing the non-pharmaceutical abuse of heroine, arguing that if it were not illegal, no one would abuse it. While that’s probably a deal-breaker for a lot of Republican caucus/primary voters, it clearly hasn’t hurt his popularity with his committed supporters.

But, let’s take a key point he made and it apply it to other pieces of his rhetoric: “If you have… inconsistency, then you’re really not defending liberty.” In other words, politicians who are inconsistent in their words and actions are not going to defend liberty. Read entire article…

Rick Perry: Beyond Texas DREAM Act and Gardasil-Gate

Author: admin

by Bob Eschliman

As an uncommitted voter in the Republican primary/caucus process, I’ve taken my responsibility as an Iowan seriously — probably more seriously than several of the presidential candidates, but I digress. I’ve been trying to vet the candidates, and unfortunately, I find many of the candidates offered on the GOP slate lacking. But, I know I’m not alone. Most Iowa Republicans seem disenfranchised with the 2012 crop. It’s easy to bash on the media-appointed frontrunner, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. His actions speak far louder than his rhetoric: he’s in favor of “partnership agreements” for homosexual couples — gay marriage, just by another name — and his “RomneyCare” program — by which “ObamaCare” was modeled — allows $50 copays for taxpayer-subsidized abortions. Where are America’s “Children of Issachar”?

Author: admin

by Tom Hoefling

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment. – I Chronicles 12:32 (KJV), (written as David was given the administration of the nation of Israel).

In America, the elections of 2012 are a transition election. Our country is in a transition period. God knows what it is we are transitioning to. Time will tell. But, before we examine that, let’s step back a century and a half: In the America of the1850s it’s doubtful that many understood what was just ahead. In any generation foresight and true leadership are rare commodities. And as the Scripture says: “Where there is no vision My people perish.” – Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) Read entire article…

10th Anniversary of 9-11, The Three Stooges of Polity, & The Threat of Islam’s Sixth Pillar

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

“This case,” the judge wrote, “will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic Law.” So said Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen of Tampa, Florida, in March of 2011.[i] A re-read of the classical Roman poet’s (Publius Vergilius Maro) Latin epic, “The Aeneid,” which describes the legendary tale of the “Trojan Horse,” is in order!

Ongoing attempts within this free nation to systematically introduce Islamic “Kadhis Courts” (which is the Islamic pre-cursor to Sharia Law), under the guise of “religious freedom,” threatens the American justice system and, as a result, all American liberties. Read entire article…

“All of My Sins are Forgiven” and other Lies…

Author: admin

by Cal Zastrow

Here’s the top ten lies I was told recently: 1. “All of my sins are forgiven.” 2. “I am a Christian.” 3. “God forgives. I’m okay.” 4. “I’m saved, and I go to church every Sunday.” 5. “The Bible says not to judge.” 6. “I’m praying for you, too.” 7. “So what? No sin is bigger than any other sin.” 8. “We’ll repent later.” 9. “I’m going to jail if you don’t shut up!” 10. “We’re fine. Our choice is between us and God.”

These statements were made to me while my family and I were evangelizing on the sidewalk in front of the last remaining surgical abortuary in Mississippi. They all came from mothers and fathers who were murdering their preborn children. Other lies were told: “It’s not a person yet.” “What I do doesn’t affect anybody else.” Read entire article…

Just this morning a friend of mine told me of the upside down world Superman occasionally found himself trapped in. An alternate time space continuum, “Htrea”, (Earth spelled backwards) was the intentional and purposeful opposite of earth.

In this world, gold and diamonds lay in the gutters, while coal, cigarette butts and gobs of chewed gum were priceless.

An Open Letter on the Role of Women in Ministry and Government

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

Friends,

As the pastor of a Neo-Pentecostal/Charismatic church in the year 2011, having friends who are members of many different brands of the Christian faith, there is often a “white elephant” in the room concerning the proper role of women in the New Testament church program, (particularly when my friends realize, for the first time, that we have ordained women into ministry and refer to two associate pastors on our staff as “Pastor Eileen” and “Pastor Donna.”

Politically and socially, we Americans have seen great distortions in the proper role of the sexes, over the last fifty years, and unfortunately, in response to our culture’s overt feminization of men and symbiotic masculinization of women, it seems we have (to borrow a line from Jesus) leaped from one ditch to another. When I was approached by a long-time member of my church last year, who was asking how to explain this issue to a newer member of our fold (from a Baptist background), I decided I would go ahead and share our doctrinal position on the subject with those who may have wondered about our stand and perhaps felt awkward asking about it. Personally, as you’ll see below, this much work deserves a larger audience than one person (chuckling) so you have been “copied-in.”

My thoughts are, as you might expect, very settled. I hope that you would consider their merit, if you have the time. Should you decide to read on, I do ask one thing of you: if, while reading, you find yourself tempted to get offended, please remind yourself that I didn’t write this explanation to you, personally; I wrote it to a lady named Karen who is a member of my church.

Naturally, I believe our position on this subject, and the methods we use to interpret the scripture, as well as the way we conduct ordinations, is acceptable and pleasing to the Lord, but the purpose of sharing this correspondence is for none other than sharing “why we do what we do at Cornerstone Church.” I would hope to accomplish two things through this:

1) Present a differing view that we believe is correct, with the hope that some who read this might make an adjustment to their own former view.

2) Demonstrate the truth that while some churches may be cavalier with the formation of their doctrines, we are not.

You are, of course, free to pass this along to whomever you wish. The information is not private – as I have changed the names in the correspondence to protect the innocent.

Blessings,

Pastor Cary Gordon Read entire article…

The Purposeful Flooding of America’s Heartland

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

by Joe Herring

The Missouri River basin encompasses a vast region in the central and west-central portion of our country.  This river, our nation’s longest, collects the melt from Rocky Mountain snowpack and the runoff from our continents’ upper plains before joining the Mississippi river above St. Louis some 2,300 miles later.  It is a mighty river, and dangerous.

Some sixty years ago, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) began the process of taming the Missouri by constructing a series of six dams.  The idea was simple: massive dams at the top moderating flow to the smaller dams below, generating electricity while providing desperately needed control of the river’s devastating floods. Declaring Independence from God: A Very Bad Idea

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

by Dr. Gary DeMar

After the defeat of Hitler’s Third Reich, war crime tribunals were set up in Nuremberg, Germany. The purpose, of course, was to judge those who had participated in the grossest of atrocities, the planned extermination of the Jewish race. John Warwick Montgomery explains the problem the tribunal faced:

When the Charter of the Tribunal, which had been drawn up by the victors, was used by the prosecution, the defendants very logically complained that they were being tried by ex post facto laws; and some authorities in the field of international law have severely criticized the allied judges on the same ground.
