Living in Bizzaro

Author: admin

By Rev. Tim Ginter

Trustee, PeaceMakers Institute

Just this morning a friend of mine told me of the upside down world Superman occasionally found himself trapped in. An alternate time space continuum, “Htrea”, (Earth spelled backwards) was the intentional and purposeful opposite of earth.

In this world, gold and diamonds lay in the gutters, while coal, cigarette butts and gobs of chewed gum were priceless.

Later, as I read the news release about Happy Time Daycare in Waulkee, Iowa, I couldn’t help but think of Htrea. Read entire article…

Violence in the Sanctuary

Author: admin

Author

What should the Christian response be to radical hate?  What is the church to do when the security and safety of the sanctuary is attacked by a group whose mission is to instill fear in anyone who opposes their agenda?

This is not an esoteric question.  Unfortunately, it is a question that all churches must consider.  We live in a world where the Christian message is hated.  Christians worldwide are facing persecution because they adhere to the life-giving message of Jesus, and want to share that message with others.  Some face death for aligning with Christ.

In America, the heat is being turned up on Christians, and our sanctuaries are not off-limits. Read entire article…

Declaring Independence from God: A Very Bad Idea

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

by Dr. Gary DeMar

After the defeat of Hitler’s Third Reich, war crime tribunals were set up in Nuremberg, Germany. The purpose, of course, was to judge those who had participated in the grossest of atrocities, the planned extermination of the Jewish race. John Warwick Montgomery explains the problem the tribunal faced:

When the Charter of the Tribunal, which had been drawn up by the victors, was used by the prosecution, the defendants very logically complained that they were being tried by ex post facto laws; and some authorities in the field of international law have severely criticized the allied judges on the same ground. A Sequence of 12 Logical Facts that could Save America!

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

1) Divine laws exist that men did NOT make, and these “natural laws” are good.*

2) Government is limited by the REALITY of natural laws.*

3) Laws exist that men DID make, and these “human laws” are often bad because they deny the REALITY of natural and Divine law.*

4) Law is the material necessary for the construction of a human conscience, and every human being has a conscience built with either good or bad law.* Read entire article…

Ron Paul for President? Why I say “Nay”!

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

Are you interested in a Ron Paul Presidency? After a recent visit to Iowa, and my noting of Congressman Ron Paul’s continual appeals to the authority of scripture when discussing economic issues, I found it necessary to record the following video clip and share it with friends across the state of Iowa. Tolerance For Intolerance Is Not a Virtue

Author: admin

By Howard Jacobs

A phobia is an irrational fear.  When people use words such as “Islamaphobe” or “homophobe”, they are implying an irrational fear of Muslim or gay people.  The “phobia” implication is misleading.  If a person disagrees with policies (say gay marriage), that does not mean that the person fears gay people, yet he is likely to be hit with the “Homophobe” slander for that opinion. Of Dishonesty and Politics (unabridged)

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

A Thorough Rebuttal of the Sioux City Journal Editorial Board’s Published Opinion against the Iowa Family Policy Center

Former Governor Branstad routinely touts himself to church-going Iowans as “a fellow evangelical” and that he is “pro-life”, yet he vigorously campaigned for Lamar Alexander, in 1999, a presidential contender who firmly stated that he “did not support” overturning Roe v. Wade, and adamantly opposed the Human Life Amendment. Read entire article…

Gronstal and Kibbie REFUSE to let you vote!

Author: admin

By Bryan English

2/11/10 Pleasant Hill, IA

Standing between Iowa citizens and their right to vote on the Iowa Marriage Amendment, Senate Democrats this week obstructed efforts to take action on the amendment ahead of an important legislative deadline.  Bills that fail to move out of committee before the end of “funnel week,” are generally no longer considered viable for the remainder of the session. While Senate rules provide options for leadership to take action on items like the Iowa Marriage Amendment after the funnel, Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal has publicly offered to risk his majority status, and his next election, to keep Iowans from having an opportunity to vote. Iowa House Democrats: Willfully Deaf!

Author: admin

By Bryan English

2/9/10 Pleasant Hill, IA -

House Speaker Pat Murphy today presided over a vote that confirmed for all of Iowa that he and his caucus ought to shut off the lights in the State House and go home to look for legitimate work. With the exception of Rep. Deloris Mertz, the Democratic caucus today turned their back on the Constitution, their assigned legislative duty, and the people of Iowa by refusing to take action on the Iowa Marriage Amendment. A Pastoral Letter to a Kangaroo Court

Author: Rev. Cary K. Gordon

An Open Letter to the Iowa Supreme Court,

So PCCartoon03many times we read editorials claiming “if it had not been for the courts, we’d still have slavery in America today!” This shameless untruth is nearly always stated in an attempt to praise modern-day judicial activism, (without which homosexual marriage in Iowa could not exist). Besides the glaringly obvious fact that being “gay” is a behavior, and has nothing to do with civil rights, in the first place…besides the fact that as recently as last year, the American Psychiatric Association repudiated the fallacy of “born-gay” science, (which is to say, from an impartial, non-political perspective, that being “gay” is NOT the equivalent of being a particular “race”), few debates of our time seem more prone to deteriorate into willfully unintelligent comparisons, than the one at hand. As I am prepared to demonstrate, the arguments of the left are found wanting. They are unworthy of serious consideration, once their emotion-driven talking points and historically inaccurate claims are exposed and discarded. Read entire article…

Homosexuality

Author: admin

By Rev. Bill Tvedt – PeaceMakers Institute Trustee

Today we face a society that the prophet Isaiah described in Isaiah 5:20, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” We are truly seeing a culture emerging that calls good evil and evil good.  For example, when a Christian or even a proponent of the traditional family, out of love and concern, speaks out against the proven ills or the biblical prohibitions of homosexuality, they are accused of hate speech.  On the other side of the coin, we see the same crowd call death-producing behavior a “Gay Lifestyle.” Read entire article…
